This game was addicting. I only stopped because I couldn't afford the price. The game itself was amazing until they started dumbing it down for new players and making dailies required. Other than that it was amazing. The dungeons and trials were challenging and so much fun. The people were amazing if you found the right guild. Overall I miss the players and most of the gameplay, but would not go back for the dailies to save my life.

Recent expansions leave much to be desired but beginning WoW expansions were peak MMORPG.
Some of the best times I've had gaming in online spaces.

I haven’t played in years, but the vanilla experience, and many expansions after, was one of the best gaming experiences of my lifetime.

Was an active wow-player until Wrath of the Lich King. I have fond memories of the community I became a part of and just strolling through lush jungles and barren deserts and just get completely immersed into this foreign world of beauty and danger. Tried a few of the expansions since Wrath of the Lich King, but the magic and the community I grew up with was no longer present.

This game took years away from me. I stopped playing regularly after the Panda expansion. I came back to play a few other expansions but not to the extent of how I used to. Even if the game went F2P I don’t think I would return.

Blizzard Entertainment has annoyed its player base and they are creating their own demise as they are unable to produce anymore quality games.
The current state of their new games and content namely Diablo IV and World of Warcraft in 2023 and 2024 is an absolute mess.
I am not sure if it has something to do with Microsoft buying Blizzard in 2023 and pretty much laying off the entire company but 2023 2024 (Diablo IV and World of Warcraft Season of Discovery and Mists of Pandaria Remix) is the beginning of the end for this company. These are 2 big recent releases for Blizzard.
As far as World of Warcraft is concerned. The release of Season of Discovery phase 4 has been delayed . Their World of Warcraft Mists of Pandaria Remix is bugged preventing you from completing the campaign after weeks of playing, the player gets stuck at 9/10 as far as completion due to bugs and errors in the game itself on Blizzards end.
But that is not all... The forums are filled with people complaining that the Raid scaling for Mists of Pandaria is bad and the raids are too hard (both are correct). The forums are filled with people complaining that people have had an unfair advantage because of certain "frog farming" that has now been taken out of the game (this is correct).
Meanwhile on Diablo IV, i have never seen more people complaining about how bad a game is. People that have been gaming their entire life have needed 200 attempts / deaths to defeat the final boss the echo of Lilith, how do they expect a normal person to do this ? Someone who hasn't gamed their entire life.
They could have decided to program this differently but they did not. I believe this company should be shut down due to abuse, but either way, this is the end of the company as we know it. They have annoyed their player base and are unable to produce anymore quality gaming content (for whatever reason) as their major new releases both clearly indicate.

The best game ever made. I highly recommend playing on a private server like Turtle WoW, Blizzard has no idea how to develop fun games anymore. The vanilla game without expansions will always be the best version of this game
