Dread Zone and Nightmare Zone will bring with them harder zombies and NPCs, a severe lack of resources, more hordes, a larger blood plague, and much more.In Dread Zone, armored zombie hordes and plague-infected juggernauts will begin appearing and players who have been infected will die within 30 minutes.
In Nightmare Zone, it will be that much harder to survive and players infected will die within just 10 minutes and they will have to deal with "wandering groups of freaks and hostile humans capable of scoring lethal headshots against your survivors."
Once this new update goes live, players will be given the option of changing their existing community's difficulty or may choose to begin a new game on one of the harder modes. In multiplayer, the difficulty will be set by the host.For achievement hunters, there will be 16 new achievements associated with these new difficulty modes, all for a grand total of 275 Gamerscore.
State of Decay 2 released back in 2018, and in our review, we said "State of Decay 2's survival RPG struggle against zombies is fun thanks to strong combat and fear of permanent death but repetitive and buggy, especially in co-op."
