Game Debuts
LEVEL 22 – ($3.99)After a long night spent out partying and drinking with his buddies, a hungover and late-for-work office building employee named Gary goes on a stealth action adventure to make it to his cubicle on the 22nd floor without being seen by anyone along the way. This one's got style, folks. Take a look:
The latest adventure game to come from the mind of Ron Gilbert and the rest of the creative team at Double Fine, The Cave first made a splash on PC and consoles earlier this year. We've got that full review for you right here, and the video review should give you a sense of what this one would play like on your iOS device as well:
We're big fans of the Puzzle Quest franchise around here, as its unique combination of match-three puzzling with RPG adventuring is still an addictive hybrid today, years after the release of the first game in the series. Today, a new version launches into the App Store, and it's been given a fresh coat of Marvel Comics paint.
Run, jump and slash your way through ninja foes in a world filled with block-shaped pixel people:

The developers at Playdek have brought several card games into the App Store before, from the Magic: The Gathering-like Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer to the digital version of Penny Arcade's card game, Gamers vs. Evil. Today, they launch their latest – and it's about a millionaire who's hiring anime maids to work in his mansion. (Quite a style shift, wouldn't you say?)
From the makers of Rollercoaster Tycoon, Transport Tycoon lets you engineer an empire of roads, railways and airports to get things where they need to go.
I've known a few people who've been addicted to the physical version of this one before – Pandemic is a cooperative board game that has you working together with other players to prevent the spread of a disease that's threatening to overtake the entire planet.
A pirate-themed card game that has you going for the gold:
And our last Game Debut of the day rounds things out with some real-time strategy on an epic scale:
Freebies!
Hills of Glory 3D – (Free)I had hoped to feature this new release from Chillingo several days ago, but its iTunes link was broken for a while. It's just as well, though, as now that Apple's got the page sorted out for it, its price has dropped down to zero.
Trying to drum up renewed interest and some fresh paid purchases of Episode Two, the team at Free Lunch Design has discounted their labyrinth runner Dark Nebula HD: Episode One down for free once again.
Simple – a free billiards sim for ya.
Notice how they managed to work the word "Risk" into that subtitle? I wonder why . . .
And our final freebie features a Swedish rabbit bouncing as high into the sky as he can. Fun!
Updates
Warhammer Quest – ($4.99)Last overall today is Warhammer Quest, getting featured here because its Version 1.1 update is now live and offers two new playable characters – the Shadow Warrior and Ogre Irongut. We just published our full review of this one a few days ago, so read that by clicking here.
