Then there's Daxter from Ready at Dawn Studios. Fans of the Jak series finally scored a portable iteration of a title in the series. It delivered a console-like experience with all the style and action any platform junkie could want. Not only that, it proved developers could deliver PS2 quality visuals on the Sony PSP. And with Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Sony Bend crafted a genuinely killer product - a game that sets the standard for handhelds. It's a complex game with refined controls, slick visuals and outstanding production values.
But head down below and start clicking for further proof. Things are looking pretty good.
Pursuit Force
Pursuit Force is a damn fine portable game. It's fast, fun and perfectly suited for gaming on the run. It packs a ton of content, too, and it does so with style. Race fans will definitely want to check it out, and so will fans of the action genre. But regardless of gaming preference, it's hard to deny the appeal.Daxter
Daxter is simply an outstanding PSP game that brings back the old-school platform gaming the industry has been shying more and more away from. From the great level design to the ultra-refined controls to the excellent production values, Daxter is a game every PSP gamer should check out.Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror packs an uncommon amount of detail, variety and overall quality. It blends intense action sequences with stealth in a way no portable game has before, and it does so with style to spare. It controls well, plays well and generally does everything right.MLB 06: The Show
MLB '06: The Show for the PSP is a step forward from last year's bare bones port. The basic menus have been replaced with flashier screens. There's now an expanded Season mode and the inclusion of a career Mode and King of the Diamond makes MLB '06 a solid translation of its console counterpart. Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai is a very simplistic fighter with a "so bad it's good" storyline wrapped in an extremely portable package. Tight fighting mechanics, lots of options and extras that fans will definitely dig.
