EA's newest FIFA title will offer nearly 100 of the world's soccer superstars across 127 national teams, along with 12 official stadiums as part of its recreation of the 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany. A new Global Challenge mode will recreate notable moments in FIFA history, while eight-player online support keeps the action social.
"The FIFA World Cup will be the single most watched sporting event by a worldwide television audience, bringing together soccer fans from around the world," said Joe Nickolls, the game's lead producer. "Our game, 2006 FIFA World Cup celebrates this passion by capturing all of the national rivalries in-game, enabling fans to play their heroes and be a part of 2006 FIFA World Cup Germany."
Currently in development at EA Canada, 2006 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to hit stores in April for PlayStation 2, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, PC, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, PlayStation Portable, and mobile phones.
