I'm personally convinced that the Switch 2 (and PS5 pro) are ready for release but they are just postponing them for various reasons. Some reasons might include finding the ideal launch period and making sure there is enough stock (lessons learned from COVID 2020-2022 chip shortage)

Just recall Death Stranding is partly owned by Sony so atleast 2 upcoming games should be there. Heck yeah I am getting excited by the prospect of new DS2 trailer/gameplay!

Always good to see new content from all players involved in the industry! Not expecting much from Sony this time around. They seem to be in GaaS purgatory this generation and none of their games entice at the moment.

Makes me wonder. Rumors is going around ABK content will be starting to be dumped on Game Pass by surprise in August.

I've always been of the belief much of this content has been held back because MS seeing through the previous ABK commitments to their marketing contract with Sony. Which will likely mean MS can't say when the content will come to Game Pass if it is being held back by terms of the marketing restriction. Just one day they'll be like "all this stuff is being dumped on Game Pass in a week y'all".

Now, perhaps Sony knows when that will be because it's their deal expiring, they'd know and are probably like "well we can't sit here afterwards with our thumbs up our ass doing nothing, WE HAVE to go to Tokyo Game Show".

No doubt though it'll mostly be a bunch of JRPGs Sony is paying to keep off Xbox is whatever they show. But people will applaud them for it.

I would say goal posts moved for sure! I remember when cows said that Xbox exclusives didn't count if they were third party developed games. Xbox has no games! Xbox has no exclusives! Xbox has no first party studios!

In my opinion, PlayStation has a great base they can go back to. PlayStation 1 and PlayStation 2 games. All they really need to do is study what made those games great, and then build upon them. Sony does too many shifts every system cycle unnecessarily. Yeah I don’t know too much about the PS4 and PS5, I’ll admit that, but I know enough to say they need a revamp.

I've been saying since the rumors started circulating about the PS5 Pro that they were likely holding their games back for the reveal... almost like a soft reboot or treating it almost like an entirely new console gen. I would certainly hope I'm right, since this gen is off to a slower start than the PS3 era. They have rung every penny out of the PS4 and are going to need some bigger games to refuel the PS5. I would imagine they probably have multiple projects both 1st and 2nd party that will be ready to release at or near the launch of the Pro with a steady stream there after at least for the first couple years... if not, well, I have no idea what they're trying to accomplish.

As far as MS is concerned all they have to do is release 4 games on console. World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Candy Crush (should be easy enough), and Black Ops 6.

If/when those two things happen this gen can finally actually start. It's like we are still just acting here waiting for the gun to shoot so we can start the race and their have been about 37 false starts. The covid excuse and all the other excuses the industry have made are ridiculous at this point. Things will start moving a lot faster in the industry within the next few months, especially since support for last gen is finally almost over.
