Sonos' First Pair Of Noise-Canceling Headphones Releases Next Week

The Sonos Ace headphones feature active noise-canceling tech, spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, and high-quality audio playback.

Comments

Earlier this month, Sonos announced its first-ever pair of headphones, the Sonos Ace. The announcement came after years of rumors that the premium speaker manufacturer was finally entering the headphone market. The new headphones will offer wireless connectivity, high-quality audio playback, active noise-canceling, and up to 30 hours of battery life--features that position to compete with other high-end over-ear headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM5, Bose Quiet Comfort Ultra, AirPods Max, and Beats Studio Pro.

While the Sonos Ace lacks a few features normally found on Sonos products—specifically, it doesn't integrate with other Sonos Wi-Fi speakers—it does feature built-in spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, and can connect seamlessly to the Sonos Arc soundbar so you can quickly swap to private listening via the headphones. It also supports Bluetooth 5.4 connections and SBC, AAC, and aptX Lossless codecs for high-quality audio playback.

Sonos claims the headphones offer up to 30 hours of battery life, even when you have active noise cancellation on. A fast-charging feature will allow users to get three hours of battery life from a three-minute charge.

The Sonos Ace headphones will launch on June 5 for $449. They will be available in white or black color options, each of which has plush leatherette earcups and a cushioned headband. Both models are up for preorder on Amazon.
