Nicholas Galitzine Has The Power As Live-Action He-Man

Nicholas Galitzine has The Power! Amazon MGM has announced that the Idea Of You star has landed the role of the live-action He-Man for the long-delayed Masters of the Universe movie. The Travis Knight-helmed (Bumblebee) production is aiming for a 2026 release.

Chris Butler is writing the screenplay after David Callaham and the Nee brothers left the film. This will be the second live-action Masters of the Universe movie after the 1987 vehicle with Dolph Lundgren and Frank Langella as He-Man and Skeletor, respectively.

According to a prior synopsis from the studio, the movie takes some liberties with the original story and has a young Prince Adam (He-Man's alter-ego) crashing to Earth in a spaceship and decades later returns to his home planet of Eternia to defend it from the evil forces of Skeletor. To take on the bone baddie, he must uncover his past and become He-Man.

"We're thrilled to bring the beloved Masters of the Universe to life and couldn't be more excited to announce the immensely talented Nicholas Galitzine as our He-Man," said Julie Rapaport, head of film production and development at Amazon MGM Studios (via Variety). "This reintroduction of the character and his universe will be an epic film that will delight audiences from here to Eternia."

Hardcore fans will know that there are two origins of He-Man, one of him being a jungle lord and becoming the savoir of Castle Greyskull--which was used for the 1982 toyline as told in the first wave of mini-comics. Then the story that the Filmation animated series told with Prince Adam and the Sword of Power, which most people recognize as the one true origin.
