Rian Johnson is coming back for another Knives Out film, and now we've learned more about it. The third movie is called Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The film brings back Daniel Craig as Benoit Blanc, and it has Blanc taking on his "most dangerous case yet."

Not much is known about Wake Up Dead Man. It's another whodunnit murder mystery, but the movie's setting and cast of suspects remains unknown for now.

"I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is. There's a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies," Johnson said on social media.

Production is set to begin soon on Wake Up Dead Man, Johnson said, adding that the title "gives a little hint" as to what to expect from the film. The first movie was simply titled Knives Out, while the sequel was called Glass Onion.

Knives Out was released theatrically, but Netflix swooped in and paid Johnson and Craig a reported $100 million each to put the Knives Out sequels on the streaming platform. Netflix is said to have paid around $470 million for the sequels, which is more than the estimated market value. A report said Netflix intentionally overpaid for the sequels to take marketshare away from theaters.

Wake Up Dead Man comes to Netflix in 2025.
