Cavia To Publish Anime Games

Six giant Japanese companies form a new subsidiary called Cavia Inc. to publish games based on popular anime brands.

On Tuesday, GameSpot News learned that six big Japanese companies - Mitsubishi, Tokuma Shoten, Nippon Television, FM Tokyo, Amuse Capital, and Tohoku Shinsha - have formed a new subsidiary called Cavia Inc. Sega of Japan's former vice chairman Hayao Nakayama will serve as president of the company. The new company will publish games based on Japanese animation licenses on multiple platforms and will open its doors in February 2000.

Although no titles have been officially announced, possibilities for games based on licenses include Princess Mononoke, My Neighbor Totoro, Raideen and Patlabor. We'll being you more details soon.
