Elden Ring Dectus Lift Medallion: Where To Find Both Halves

The Grand Lift of Dectus in Elden Ring is a large contraption you find in Liurnia of the Lakes. It’s an elevator that provides you entry to Altus Plateau, an area filled with lush golden fields lying before the Capital. But to activate the lift requires you to find two halves of a medallion.

Elden Ring FAQ: Every Guide You’ll Need

The Dectus Lift is located at the very end of Liurnia of the Lakes, after a long gauntlet dealing with both ranged and melee powerful enemies. However, upon arriving at the lift you may be surprised to learn that you can’t actually use it yet. You won’t be able to proceed until you find two halves of a Medallion to activate it.

ELDEN RING DECTUS LIFT MEDALLION LOCATION: LEFT SIDE

The Dectus Medallion (Left) can be found in Fort Haight, which is located in Limgrave East. When you arrive at this small castle, you’ll find it overrun by lots of soldiers and skeletons. Be sure to carefully dispatch these enemies both outside and inside the fort. Pay close attention to the ones inside, as some of them will throw firebombs at explosive barrels which will cause massive amounts of damage.

Once inside Fort Haight, head to the left and up some stairs. Keep heading up and you’ll find a knight who is pretty tough to kill early on. We recommend using a weapon such as the Twinblade or Uchigatana for this. Once you’ve killed the knight, head into the tower to the right from the stairs and climb a ladder. The Dectus Medallion (Left) is inside a chest up here.

ELDEN RING DECTUS LIFT MEDALLION LOCATION: RIGHT SIDE

The Dectus Medallion (Right) can be found in Fort Faroth, which is located in Caelid to the far east of Limgrave. Take extra care in this region, as it features lots of dangerous enemies and other hazards. Here it is on the map.

Fort Faroth features lots of flying enemies that deal immense damage, so be careful when entering this place. Luckily there’s a Site of Grace just outside, be sure to rest here and set it as your respawn point.

If you’re particularly underlevelled, we recommend just running through the fort and avoiding the enemies for now. Head inside and bear left a bit. Follow the light all the way through the dark basement and you should find a room with a ladder inside. Taking the ladder to the top will result in you finding a chest. This chest has the Dectus Medallion (Right) in it.

With both pieces now in your possession, head back to the Grand Lift of Dectus in Liurna. Once you approach the lift you’ll be given the option to ‘Hoist Medallion’ which allows you to use the lift.

IS THERE ANOTHER WAY?

If you don’t want to seek out both halves of this medallion, there is an alternative route you can take. But it’s much more dangerous. Here’s the location on the map, it’s located inside a ravine just west of where the Dectus Lift is. The place is called Ravine-Veiled Village.

This area consists of an underground mine, with a small lift that leads to an outside area filled with dangerous flying enemies who deal poison damage. After that, you’ll come across the incredibly tough Magma Wyrm boss fight. So when deciding which path to take to Altus Plateau, think carefully about which way you’d prefer.
