Duluth City Council Upgrades Technology For Public To Watch Meetings At Better Quality

DULUTH, Minn.– If you’ve watched the Duluth City Council meetings on television or online over the years, it’s no secret the quality of the broadcast is far from today’s technology.

But big upgrades are underway right now. The Council Chamber is getting bigger and better television monitors for the audience to see. New digital cameras are also being installed.

All of this will cost $50,000. It’s being funded through Public Access Community Television.

“Having the ability to watch meetings from the comfort of your home will be that much more convenient for people. The video and sound quality will be substantially better. And the records of public meetings will be that much better.” said Duluth City Clerk Ian Johnson.

The new broadcast equipment is expected to be up and running in about two weeks.
