Young Girl Hosts Lemonade Stand, Raises Money for Childhood Cancer

DULUTH, Minn. — One young girl is doing her part to give back to cause that she knows all to well.

Last October Ella Davis was diagnosed with leukemia at 10 years old. She received a bone marrow transplant in December, and is now home with her family. This week Ella and her cousins opened a lemonade stand, partaking in a foundation called “Alex’s Lemonade Stand.”

Money used to buy a cup of lemonade goes towards supporting childhood cancer families.

“I just like helping people who went through the same thing I did. It feels really good because, just knowing that people would give money to help other kids is really nice,” said Davis.

Since its start 20 years ago, “Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation” has raised more than $300,000,000 to support childhood cancer. Ella herself set a goal of 200 dollars, but achieved over 600 dollars by selling lemonade.
