Miller Hill Subaru Raised $47,000 Towards Best Christmas Ever

DULUTH, Minn. — Christmas may still far away, but it’s never too early to start to think about how to give a loved one their best Christmas ever.

Earlier today, that’s just what was being recognized at Miller Hill Subaru. The car seller donated their largest check to date of $47,000 from their contribution from Subaru’s Share the Love campaign. Last year they raised just over $26,000, raising over $20,000 more this year. The money raised was given to Best Christmas Ever, a 501(c) nonprofit organization that helps families going through rough times during the holiday season.

“When you go on a BCE drop for Best Christmas Ever the families are unaware that anyone is showing up,” said General Manager of Miller Hill Subaru Joe Plucinak. “And you show up to their home, usually, and just surprise them. You give a family that wasn’t having a Christmas a real Christmas, and try to make it a once in a lifetime generational change for them. It’s truly a blessing.”

All the profits were raised last Christmas season through people purchasing new vehicles or maintaining their vehicle’s maintenance at Miller Hill Subaru. But organizers say that the best part about this charity event is keeping the recipients a surprise.

“When you think of the families that you make an impact for a lot of times, even $100 doesn’t seem like a whole lot,” said Don Liimatainen, the founder of Best Christmas Ever. “But when you don’t have it, how far that could go and times that by all the families that we were able to help and be able to come in when they’re having their absolute worst year that you could ever think of.”

This upcoming year will be Best Christmas Ever 14th year on surprising families with Christmas cheer.
