The record-breaking temperatures in Las Vegas isn’t slowing down the poker action inside the Paris and Horseshoe ballrooms. The sizzling summer continues at the 2024 World Series of Poker and the WSOP Main Event No-Limit Hold’em World Championship has started with Day 1B on the 4th of July and continuing with 1C and 1D on Friday and Saturday.

The tournament will feature surprise celebrity cameos, appearances by poker legends, and much more. That includes a special entrance on July 5 by 17-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth. The Final Table will begin on Tuesday, July 16. The full 2024 WSOP schedule along with event news and updates can be found on WSOP.com. Players can follow @WSOP on X or Instagram.

Last year’s record-breaking turnout drew 10,043 entries to shatter the 2006 record and make eight WSOP Final Table players millionaires. That included $12.1 million to the winner, Daniel Weinman from Atlanta, who delivered the iconic “Shuffle Up and Deal” to kickstart the 2024 Main Event on Wednesday.

“This is the greatest poker tournament in the world,” Weinman said. “I plan on playing in this tournament for the rest of my life and am excited to see who gets their name up on the wall next.”

The 2024 WSOP $10,000 buy-in World Championship is Event #81 out of 98 events, which will include The Closer, a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em tournament starting July 15 to conclude the 55th annual World Series of Poker.

The WSOP Main Event consists of two-hour levels and long days of poker with players gettting into the money and minimum $15,000 payouts at the very end of Day 3 on Monday, July 8.

The fireworks started early on July 3 and Day 1A as two players WSOP Main Event ended on their very first hand. Another player on Day 1B also lost his entire starting stack of 60,000 chips and busted on their very first hand of the tournament.
