About

Pamela Brown is an award-winning journalist, who is slated to anchor a new CNN weekday show “The Bulletin with Pamela Brown.” As CNN’s chief investigative correspondent, Brown also led the network’s award-winning investigative team.

In 2023, Brown and the CNN investigative team uncovered decades of coordinated sexual assault cover-ups within the U.S. Coast Guard Academy leading to multiple congressional inquiries into the pattern of ignored misconduct, the resignation of a top official and a scathing USCG internal review vowing change. The series won an award from the Center for Integrity in News Reporting for being an “example of impartial, objective and fair news reporting.” Since joining CNN in 2013, Brown has also received Emmy nominations for her work covering the Pulse nightclub shooting and the Manchester concert attack.

Previously, Brown served as a weekend primetime anchor, as well as CNN’s senior Washington correspondent after serving on the network’s voting integrity team covering the historic 2020 election. Prior to that, she was the Senior White House correspondent where she covered former President Donald Trump and his administration for all of the network’s programs and platforms. Brown’s reporting on the Trump administration covered key moments such as the special counsel’s investigation into former President Donald Trump’s campaign, two impeachment proceedings, the Covid pandemic, the controversial travel ban and child separation policies, missile strikes in Syria, and the firing of FBI Director James Comey. Brown and her colleagues also broke the news on the first criminal charges to be filed by Special Counsel Robert Mueller. Prior to that, Brown served as CNN’s Justice Correspondent with a focus on law enforcement, national security, and the U.S. Supreme Court, covering landmark decisions like the legalization of same-sex marriage. Brown has traveled the world reporting on several breaking news stories, including in France, England, Denmark, Germany, Ireland and Japan.

Brown began her career at ABC7/WJLA-TV and NewsChannel8 in Washington D.C., where she became a Sunday evening anchor and an Emmy®-nominated special projects reporter covering several national and international stories. Brown was one of the few local journalists to travel to earthquake-ravaged Haiti in January 2010 and later returned on her own to report on the rebuilding process in Port-au-Prince and the surrounding areas.

Brown grew up in Lexington, KY and holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in broadcast journalism. In 2023, Brown completed a Master of Studies in Law degree from George Washington University. She currently serves on the associate board of Hope for Henry which provides joyful experiences and scientifically tested support to pediatric patients battling life threatening illnesses.
