The year started with massive national action around the Willow Project oil pipeline – a movement led by powerful young activists who collected more than 5 million petition signatures to pressure the Biden administration. The conclusion of 2023 has millions organizing for a ceasefire, amid daily devastating news out of the Gaza Strip and Israel.

There were more than 180K petitions started on Change.org in the U.S. in 2023, and nearly 43 million signatures were added to those campaigns. These are the most signed petitions of the year.
