A new film based on Formula 1 racing titled F1 is in the works from Apple, Plan B Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures, and it is set to star Brad Pitt.
Today, Apple Original Films, in collaboration with Plan B Entertainment and Warner Bros. Pictures, has revealed their new F1 racing film in development. The film is set to follow a former Formula 1 racer (played by Brad Pitt) in his return to the track alongside a teammate played by Damson Idris (Snowfall) for APXGP (a fictional Formula 1 team made for the film). Interestingly enough, the film is being shot during actual Grand Prix weekends (which are ongoing) to add a sense of immersion to the film. Below is a first look at the official movie poster, courtesy of Warner Bros.

F1 is headed by numerous industry professionals, starting with Director and Producer Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick), alongside Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films; Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner for Plan B Entertainment; and Lewis Hamilton under his Dawn Apollo Films banner.
Apple Original films have been on a release spree this year, with Killers of the Flower Moon, Napoleon, Argylle, and Fancy Dance all releasing within the past calendar year, and all four films coming to the Apple+ streaming service as of 2024. That’s not all; Apple also has a couple of other releases still in production and post-production, with Fly Me to the Moon and The Instigators set to land in theatres this summer alone. The real-life F1 racing Grand Prix, however, is gearing up to have an event-packed summer of 2024, with global events occurring almost bi-weekly for the next two months.
F1 is currently scheduled to launch in theatres on July 25, 2025.
