Behaviour named among Canada’s Best Workplaces for Mental Wellness and Best Workplaces for Inclusion

Inclusion and Mental Wellness are two important facets of Behaviour’s holistic approach to our team’s happiness and wellbeing, and we’re happy to announce that the Great Place to Work Institute has listed us among Canada’s Best Workplaces for both!

A Best Workplace for Mental Wellness

Behaviour takes all aspects of our team’s wellbeing to heart and is committed to providing a workplace where mental health is an ongoing priority. Making the Great Place to Work Institute’s list of Canada’s Best Workplaces for Mental Wellness underscores efforts across our many teams to create spaces where mental health concerns are given the validation and attention they deserve.

Behaviour’s dedication to our team’s mental wellbeing includes our cornerstone commitment to work/life balance and our strict “no crunch” policy.  Our Peace of Mind Policy further ensures that work hours are respected by enshrining everyone’s right to disconnect. Behaviour also provides a generous allotment of paid time off to ensure everyone has the time they need to unwind and take care of themselves and their loved ones along with access to 24/7 professional help through our Employee Assistance Program and our telemedicine service. Behaviour also encourages a dialogue on mental health through our annual Mental Health Weeks series of activities and workshops.

To be eligible for Canada’s Best Workplaces for Mental Wellness list, organizations must be certified as a Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute and have at least 80% of employees surveyed agree that their workplace is psychologically and emotionally healthy. The best are determined based on employee responses to the Institute’s Mental Wellness Index.

Best Workplaces for Inclusion

Behaviour is also working hard to be more representative and inclusive. We recently undertook a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) analysis of the company that surveyed more than 500 members of our team and heard from six internal focus groups. Key areas for improvement that were identified are now the focus of Behaviour’s DEI Strategy and Action Plan. Behaviour has also created an employee-led DEI Committee to monitor the strategy’s implementation.

“Both Mental Wellness and Inclusion are important components of Behaviour’s 360-degree approach to our team’s wellbeing,” says Kalina Morin, VP People & Culture at Behaviour Interactive. “Together, we will continue to move forward, learn, and grow to build an organization where everyone feels welcome, respected, and valued.”

To be eligible for Canada’s Best Workplaces for Inclusion list, organizations must be certified as a Great Place to Work by the Great Place to Work Institute and have at least 90% of employees surveyed must agree that people are treated fairly regardless of personal characteristics (such as gender, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation). The best are determined based on employee responses to the Institute’s Inclusion Index.
