SPOILERS IN REVIEW! PLEASE DO NOT READ IF DO NOT WISH TO SEE SPOILERS. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Let me start off by saying I liked this book a lot, and it is in fact a must-have if you enjoy the Republic Commando story. However, I will critique this book bluntly, but honestly as it does have a few flaws. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the book, and I recommend it; just not as highly as the first few books.
I purchased this book after purchasing and reading all of the previous Republic Commando novels and loved every single one of them, and I felt I owed it to myself to end it with a bang on buying the last book. The only problem with my goal was that this particular book, as good as it was, lacked any real closure to the series. The entire book I was expecting everyone to meet up, get together, and start semi-normal lives, but Dar and Niner never making it out of the 501st despite having an obvious opportunity really ruined it for me. I grew to love Darman as a character as the books progressed, but in the final book he just became a moody jerk who wanted to off all Jedi despite his late wife being a Jedi, and his son being Force-sensitive. The book pretty well ended with no real closure, and all the characters were in the exact same situation they were in the previous book. It felt like Karen Traviss just wrote this book to fill some kind of odd void, and had no real purpose to do so.
When it comes to shipping/packaging, the product arrived on time with no issues and I am very satisfied with what I received.
