A fast paced and intriguing Star Wars novel, exploring the tragically under-utilized Sith Warrior, Darth Maul, and his pursuit of a traitorous Nemodian right before the events of the Phantom Menace. The book is filled with exciting moments and works best when Maul is tracking his prey through the labyrinth like city-world of Coruscant, showcasing his mastery of the dark side with acrobatic feats that leave the reader excited for each confrontation between the Sith and the gallery of various rogues, bounty hunters and jedi that are pitted against him. Given the knowledge of what transpires in Phantom Menace, the plot is fairly predictable, however it still manages to capture the spirit of the dark warrior quite well, so it is a worthy read for anyone interested in more Darth Maul action.
