Lack of Character Development was disappointing.

The story overall was interesting, but I disliked the format of how they were stitched together. It was really a set of short stories, with often times 1000 year gaps between chapters. It made it really hard to get into. Just as I found myself getting to know (and like or dislike) characters, the story would jump 1000 years into the future and I'd have to get to know another whole set of characters. This should be on the list for any die-hard Star Wars fan, because it does give some history on this Lost Tribe. But as a stand-alone, I found it disappointing.
