This book is a nice little addition to any Star Wars fans bookshelf. I enjoy the shorter stories that are a nice simple read compared to the long world building that larger novels build. I would recommend this book to anyone and see how you like the stories.

This is a collection of stories, similarly formatted to the "Clone Wars: Stories of Light and Dark" book that came out in 2020. However, this book tells original stories where that book featured novelization of Clone Wars episodes. I prefer this format better personally. Here is my rating for each story:

1. What a Jedi Makes by Michael Koggee: 9.5 out of 10!
2. Resolve by Alex Segura: 7.0 out of 10.
3. The Eye of the Beholder by Sarwat Chadda: 9.0 out of 10!
4. A Jedi's Duty by Karen Strong 7.5 out of 10.
5. Worthless by Delilah Dawson: 10 out of 10!
6. The Ghosts of Maul by Michael Moreci: 9 out of 10!
7. Blood Moon Uprising by Vera Strange: 7.5 out of 10!
8. Luke on the Bright Side by Sam Maggs: 5 out of 10
9. Masters by Tessa Gratton: 8.0 out of 10.
10. Through the Turbulence by Rosanne A. Brown: 8.0 out of 10.

Some stories that were 9.0 and better I absolutely loved. These stories were practically perfect in every way, and 4 of the stories fit into this definition.

Some of the stories were very good, they just were not amazing. 4 stories fit into this category.

One story was only "meh".

One story was actually pretty bad, and I was disappointed how it brought down the rest of the book.

Overall, I really really loved this book. Probaby the best short story collection in the canon that we have gotten. Great stuff overall, and I'd personally give the book a 9.0 out of 10!

"Star Wars: Stories of Jedi and Sith" is a compilation of 10 short stories, each one of which depicts a recognizable (fan-favorite) Jedi or Sith character from the “Star Wars” universe. For the most part, each segment here is well-honed – of the 10 stories, I’d say 8 work VERY well, 1 is fine, and 1 is mostly forgettable, which isn’t bad odds for a short-story collection. It also doesn’t hurt that the structure of the book, which lists out each story in order according to “Star Wars” chronology, starting with The High Republic timeline and extending all the way into the Sequel era, helps to lend the proceedings an additional thematic heft that it likely would have lacked, had the stories instead been merely assorted randomly. It’s not a home run, but for “Star Wars” fans craving a little extra fix between “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and the upcoming “Andor,” there’s enough quality and variety content here to satisfy.

These short, accessible stories offer interesting glimpses into a bit of the internal worlds of major characters of the current canon. I’ve always sought this as a reader of Star Wars tales, beyond the limited scope of what an actor can portray on a screen, and I think these give you *just enough* to add another layer of what are already well-known performances. I particularly enjoyed Maul’s Dagobah-cave-like quest for its deeper spiritual plumbing of a character who originally seemed meant for surface-level visual effect. His in-universe understanding of the uncountable secret corners and lost histories of Force users throughout time also highlights just how much mystery remains in this galaxy, even after 40 plus years of storytelling. It also lends much more depth to Palaptine’s labyrinthine machinations; the utter catastrophe and trauma of the Jedi Order’s true loss; and, how truly daunting it must feel to a new, solo hero thrust toward the center of it all (like Rey and Luke). Even revisiting moments we already know (like Master Yoda’s death scene), using the same dialogue but with newer layers of meaning still make these stories feel new and fresh, without having to remember the encyclopedia of lore in any new Star Wars installment. Well done.

This is a beautiful book with great illustrations. The Maul story alone is so good it justifies buying the book just to read it.

-Small Spoiler-

Maul meets the ghost of Qui-Gon Jinn and must face an uncomfortable truth!

Great story. Great book. Grab it for your collection!

With most anthologies you like some of the stories, but most aren’t the greatest. Here every story was good. They all have some interesting new information on well know characters and stories. Very well put together book.

This is a short collection of canon stories about characters we are familiar with. A few new make appearances, but this is mostly about majors. There are only two Sith stories, and one of those is a shared tale with Jedi. Unfortunately, it is like many canon books, mediocre stories avail. I couldn't pick one as a favorite. One was just a rehash of the finale of Revenge of the Sith. Voice talent in the audio is great. It makes me miss the legends authors even more. I'm glad many of the legends books are being given unabridged audio versions.

The hardcover and art it’s awesome! I didn’t expected so much quality but it is really pretty, from the materials to the design. The stories are not very long but also not short. It worth the price.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buona antologia, alcune storie più riuscite di altre
