Han Solo and Chewbacca’s extraordinary exploits carry them across the galaxy in this awesome trilogy.

Han Solo at Star’s End:Han Solo trusts no one, and does no favors. But when the best illegal ship rebuilder in the galaxy disappears, Han and Chewbacca agree to go after him—after all, the Millennium Falcon needs some very special repairs. Their search pits them against powerful and ruthless enemies out to destroy them, and finally leads them to an airless speck of desolate asteroid—the Authority prison planet known as Stars’ End.

Han Solo’s Revenge
: For a cool ten thousand credits, Han and Chewbacca will do just about anything—except transport slaves. For one thing, it means an instant death sentence. So when a high-paying cargo shipment turns out to be a consignment of slaves, Han and Chewie have to think fast. But Han forms a plan to turn the tables on the slavers and free the captives. Then, good deed accomplished, he scours the skies for the nasty joker who set him up—because revenge can be so sweet.

Han Solo and the Lost Legacy: There’s a fabled treasure at stake and a price on Han’s head. So he and Chewbacca head for a planet rumored to hide undreamed-of riches. But once they get there, Han’s beloved spacecraft, the Millennium Falcon, is hijacked by a band of assassins and killer robots. Their chances for survival are so slim, they might as well risk it all.

About the Author

Brian Daley’s first novel, The Doomfarers of Coramonde, was published on the first Del Rey list in 1977. It was an immediate success, and Brian went on to write its sequel, The Starfollowers of Coramonde, and many other successful novels: A Tapestry of Magics, three volumes of The Adventures of Hobart Floyt and Alacrity Fitzhugh, and, under the shared pseudonym Jack McKinney, ten and one half of the twenty-one Robotech novels. He first conceived of the complex GammaLAW saga in Nepal, in 1984, and worked on its four volumes for the next twelve years, finishing it shortly before his death in 1996.

I had very fond recollections of these novels from when I was a kid, and decided to grab a fresh copy to re-read. I loved the intro by Pablo Hidalgo and have to say how amazing it is not just that these are a better representation of Solo than the actual Solo movie, but that there is SO MUCH that has informed other Star Wars projects since... It's really quite amazing that these were written after the first movie and yet seem to have been an influence on the other films and TV shows that have come after. Bounty hunters, even some specific alien races seem familiar (the genetic engineering clone race seems awfully like the Kaminoans, even down to their stormy planet.) The Corporate Sector Authority has also been revamped as part of the new Andor series... In any case, my childhood self was not wrong, these novels are still great and have more creativity than a lot of things that have passed for Star Wars in the last 20 years.

I was impressed with this trilogy stories it was full of suspense and surprises. What I could not understand is in these stories Solo liked the two robots But in episode 4,5 and 6 he hated them. But I still liked the books.

I read this about 30 of so years ago. One of the best Star Wars books.

This was one of the first Star Wars Expanded Universe novels ever to come out, even before Empire Strikes Back. As such, there's a risk that they would be outdated and the characterization of Han Solo inconsistent. However, by and large the books work and Brian Daley captures Han well. We don't get too many of Han's famous one-liners, but we do get to see Han as he was before A New Hope - as a scoundrel interested in money, but also with a hidden idealistic streak. The stories involve Han going off on wild adventures outside of Imperial space and his hanging out with rogues and outlaws. Ironically, they're actually more like Indiana Jones stories than the typical Star Wars fare, but given the similarity between Han Solo and Indiana Jones they're a good fit. There are also some fun secondary characters, including Bollux the droid - whom oddly enough Han likes - and Gallandro who sadly don't reappear in the later EU. For more on Han Solo's backstory, I recommend A.C. Crispin's Han Solo Trilogy.

I just got this book about a week ago; and I am almost done with it. It is a great series of stories that Daley brings; you will feel like you're with Solo and Chewbacca on these adventures. The stories are divided equally so one isn't too short while another is too long, so that is a major plus. I would recommend this book to every Star Wars fan, and definitiely to those die hard Solo fans. I hope you will enjoy this book, one thing it is not a let down :).

5.0 out of 5 stars Las aventuras del joven Han Solo
Reviewed in Spain on February 15, 2021

5.0 out of 5 stars La storia di Star Wars
Reviewed in Italy on August 13, 2018
L'ultimo (Han Solo and the Lost Legacy), si presenta invece come un'avventura davvero onesta, parecchio godibile.
