Saw good reviews for this and thought it would be interesting ...

A severe lack of Ditko for my liking ...
95% of the book is Jaison's story and thoughts about Himself and Ditko ...
Didn't find that even remotley engaging.
Yadda, yadda, yadda waiting for Ditko.

There are a few flashes where it became interesting to me and bearing in mind the elusiveness of Mr Ditko you may feel it's worthwhile.

I personallu would direct anyone to take the time and watch ...

Who was Steve Ditko? Wth Mark Ditko and Alex Grand on YT.

We get much nearer to Ditko there than a book where the author spend great swathes talking about themselves and eventually writing how he feels his letters go around in circles with Ditko.

While Information about Ditko may be so very precious ...
The letters only appear in small quotes from Jaison.
There is no feeling of confederacy whatsover, no pointers to any passions or insights into the personal or private life of Ditko.

There was so very little here to warrant a read or even anything beyond (perhaps) an article Let alone a book.

Not recommend.

Thank you.

We don't, truthfully, learn a lot of new information about Steve Ditko in this book: but we do get an impression of the man behind the icon. But perhaps more importantly, we get to know the writer; his love of comics; and what it was like growing up as a comic fan in the 1990s. All us Spider-Man fans will want to read this book to get to know a kindred spirit, even he never quite manages to solve the Ditko Enigma.

I’ve been a Ditko fan since 1964 so I grew up with his spider-man and was devastated when he unexpectedly left two years later. I absolutely loved the stories and art which left an impression on me unmatched to this day. No one can draw spidey like Steve. No one.

This book takes you on a journey of one mans quest to understand his comic book idol Steve Ditko. It’s a journey worth taking and I thoroughly enjoyed the ride.

Regards, Ditko is a charming book, one that would make a great movie or documentary one day. Thanks to the author for sharing his story.

I was hoping beyond hope that this book would be worthy of Steve Ditko's legacy. Spiderman, Spiderman, and more Spiderman and one fellow's obsession with Spiderman. OK, this dude was a SM freak and actually had a bit of correspondence with SD which was cool but to make the limited info into book length I had to sit through the author's life story to get to anything about Steve Ditko. Not sorry I bought it but.............

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book about the author and his childhood hero, Steve Ditko

As a die hard Steve Ditko fan I truly enjoyed Jaison Chahwala's book. Like Jaison, I was first introduced to Ditko's work via Spider-man, then into his work with Charlton, DC and independent publishers.

The book is moving and easy to read and follow. A young man reaches out to his childhood hero and eventually forges a long distance relationship via correspondence. The result is an entertaining and must read for any Ditko fan
