It's been a busy few weeks here at OMC/Diversiffi Media..... .. with global DOOH progression,& market maturity top of the agenda. Data reveals that not only is OOH media holding its ground, but projections report it will outpace the UK advertising market growth in 2024/25. Not unexpectedly, this is propelled by DOOH, the convergence of technological advancements, the demands of advertisers, evolving consumer behaviours, & innovative approaches to creativity. The digitisation of assets, enabling dynamic content capabilities & programmatic trading options, redefines brand engagement. It is interesting to explore what opportunities these advancements present for clients/brands navigating audience attention in a cluttered media environment.  Will the flexibility of real-time, contextually relevant messaging extend brand resonance & increase budgetary investment? The integration of data-driven insights & analytics into campaign planning & execution is reshaping the OOH ecosystem. With advancements in technology enabling precision targeting & measurement, clients/brands have access to unlocking new levels of campaign performance and ROI.  Creativity also continues to flourish across both traditional & digital OOH, as clients/brands leverage more immersive experiences to captivate audiences & nurture lasting connections. The changes in consumer movements and infrastructure development are presenting significant opportunities for OOH. Capitalising on the growth of urban environments will broaden reach & campaign impact. As talked about frequently here, the integration of OOH into omnichannel marketing strategies is a pivotal driver of growth. Deliver consistency across multiple touchpoints, OOH is a critical component of the media mix. As long as clients/brands demand it, & their 3rd party agencies structure planning to fully integrate OOH into their omnichannel strategies, advertisers should witness an amplification of brand visibility & engagement The growth potential of OOH media is not to be underestimated. It's a multifaceted opportunity driven by digital transformation, data-driven insights, creative innovation, urbanisation, & integration with omnichannel strategies. Looking inwardly, which I rarely do, the key question is, will these opportunities start to impact OOH market share or are we yet to identify the barrier to progress? Marketers assemble. Media agencies. Discuss. In my (almost) 20 years working in marketing I have worked with, and continue to work with, some brilliant media agencies, however, I find myself reflecting on a couple of mind blowing experiences over the last week where I have encountered two agencies in particular where, in my opinion, their practices leave a lot to be desired. The first agency, tasked with a crucial deadline, simply vanished into oblivion, exhibiting a blatant disregard for their client and with no communication or care for the consequences of their inaction on the launch of a campaign. Meanwhile, a second agency, quoting for work, presented extortionate prices for media buying, seemingly without care for fair value that buying direct with negotiation would secure. Both experiences have been a sobering reminder of the importance of integrity and professionalism in the media industry and both experiences have me wondering if the “a fair days work for a fair days pay” culture is disappearing in front of our eyes? #marketing #mediaagency #discuss #marketingdiscussion #marketer

Instagram Reels now represent 50% of time spent on Instagram, however, they still only make up about 10% of our ad spend across clients. Why? The answer is simple, and is a good reminder for paid social advertisers that everything we do is contingent on Meta continuing to keep users engaged across all their platforms. It comes down to revenue per second spent on the platform. For example, it takes me maybe 30 seconds to scroll through 10 IG stories where I might see 2-3 ads. On Reels, I would need to scroll through anywhere from 3 to 5 minutes of content to get the same ad load. The lower revenue efficiency of Reels placements is a problem for Meta, and is likely why they are starting to roll out new ad formats like unskippable ad breaks.

Another Sister Agency LUX Out of Home Makes Its Bow Under Love Creative Marketing UK and USA, June 28, 2024 – A new sister agency, LUX Out of Home, has been launched by Love Creative Marketing. This strategic expansion aims to extend the company's ability to serve its clients by supplying all-encompassing out-of-home advertising solutions. A campaign last week really caught my eye… Brooks Running Let's Run There 🏃‍♀️ https://lnkd.in/eFR2vn6M Why I think it's a killer campaign: Brooks answer the customer ‘why’. Their campaign truly captures that there are a myriad of reasons driving someone to lace up their trainers and head out for a run. It’s not always about a finishing line in a race, it could be to enjoy moments of solitude or the opposite, connecting with friends. Focus on inclusivity - In the past, many sport brands fixated on performance-driven messages, emphasising goals such as getting faster, being able to lift heavier or, beating a specific time. However, this campaign, along with another favourite of mine from Asics (https://lnkd.in/exxvEN8B), shifts away from a performance-centric narrative. Instead, both these brands explore through their campaigns “Let’s run there” and “re-defining personal bests” the emotional benefits of exercise, how goals differ for everyone and they should be celebrated. Lastly, it taps into emotions - I felt the campaign understood all the feelings that running evokes and it genuinely made me want to get outside (well once the rain has stopped). A second PR coup by Manchester's AO Arena in a day, with Take That also shifting their tour to the 30-year old venue following the ongoing crisis at the city's new Co-op Live arena. If the PR and marketing team aren't flooding channels with 'AO Arena - We're entertaining you/Open for business' messaging or similar, then they should get on it. Yes, the actions of bands moving to them says a lot, but as people questioned the city's ability to have two arenas, I'd definitely turn the screws and make sure people in the region - and the music industry - perceive the established city centre as reliable and *the* place for big music. And what of the Co-op Live's handling of the communications around the ongoing crisis? What do others think?

When two agencies meet (for lunch!) ... We recently held a cross-agency lunch where Mark from Warbox and some of Tank's account directors came together to reflect on the significant impact that some brand direction has had on the client campaigns they've worked on together.
