Our Bawdsey Manor centre is steeped in history and was a key location during both World War I and II. Back in 1936 it was used as a research base for radar and shortly afterwards became RAF Bawdsey, and remained an RAF base until 1991. We are proud that each year year we welcome back members of RAF Bawdsey Reunion Association who served their country from the Suffolk base and this year the anniversary coincided with the commemoration of the D Day landings.

With over 65 years of experience in creating enriching experiences for young people we know that a first trip away from home can not only be be a little daunting for children, but for parents too! So, to help reassure them, we held our first ever live virtual Kids' Camps parents’ evening! Parents joined a Q&A session with members of the team to learn more about Kids’ Camps and several important parts of a PGL trip, from safeguarding to the centre experience and more. They also had the chance to hear first hand from children who have been on Kids' Camps and their experiences. It was fantastic to have time with parents to hear what is important to them and how we can best support them ahead of their children's first adventure!

We’re proud to share that we have been awarded ‘Employer of the Year’ by Seetec Pluss! Seetec Pluss is a charity that provides work and wellbeing services to thousands of people to help develop their skills and find work opportunities. This fantastic achievement is thanks to the work that our Resourcing team and PGL Liddington colleagues have been doing with the local Swindon branch to support job seekers in getting roles with us at PGL. Huge congrats to Dave Jury and our team at Liddington who have worked with Seetec Pluss and are the driving force for this fantastic achievement.

It is so important to us that all children can access our residential activity centres and we have invested in our training and activities to meet guests needs. We look forward to welcome more and more SEND students to our centres.
A very informative insight into the considerations teachers have to make when taking students with SEND on educational visits

At PGL we know how valuable creating unforgettable outdoor experiences for young people can be. And we have the perfect partner in Girlguiding who we’ve been working with for the past 10 years to ensure even more girls can reach heights they only previously dreamed of. So it makes sense that to celebrate our 10 year anniversary we are sponsoring Girlguiding’s height adventure badges. Girls of all ages will be able to achieve these badges by taking part in an activity where they leave the ground, something our guests can do at PGL by scaling our climbing wall, flying down our zipwire and so much more. We're excited to see how many Girlguiding members will attain their badge on their adventures!
