The Civil Service has now entered the pre-election period. This will last until the General Election concludes. During this time there will be restrictions on communications activity and Government social media accounts will be quieter than usual.

Our theory test, hazard perception and Highway Code apps have now been fixed. ✅ Updates have been made on the Apple App Store and Google Play, which will automatically update on your phone or tablet. 📲 If you don't have automatic updates on, you should manually approve the update which will fix the problem. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this caused.

We’re aware of a problem on our theory test, Highway Code and hazard perception apps. While we investigate this and find a fix, there is a temporary way to get the apps to work and to save your progress: Put your phone on airplane mode and switch off the wifi and then you can operate as usual. ✈️⚙️ We will update our customers on social media when we have more news and we apologise for the inconvenience this is causing.

Would you know what to do if your brakes’ performance began to drop when towing a caravan or trailer? Brake fade can happen when using your brakes too heavily while towing and can affect the performance of your vehicle’s brakes. ⚠️ You should: ✅ Change to a lower gear ✅ Use the engine to brake by selecting a lower gear ✅ And do not allow the car to coast Stop yourself from getting into trouble in the first place by getting some towing training: https://lnkd.in/ecuJxnJ. 👍

Another great free event with energised discussions looking at practical problems and solutions. ⚙️ Attendees at yesterday’s Earned Recognition summit got exclusive insights into laden brake testing on trailers and enjoyed commercial savings. The scheme is able to offer commercial savings through private organisations exclusively for Earned Recognition operators, which will save them money and reduce their emission outputs. Plus, hearing about the strong support for the Earned Recognition scheme from industry experts like the Chief Executive and our Head of Enforcement, left operators feeling empowered and supported. 🤝 The Earned Recognition scheme is a voluntary program designed for commercial vehicle operators in the UK. It aims to recognise and reward operators who can demonstrate high standards of compliance with the safety and roadworthiness regulations set by DVSA. 🛣️ #ERSummit #DVSAEarnedRecognition

Reversing while towing a caravan can be a daunting experience. These are our tips to reverse your caravan safely: 👀 Make sure you have a clear view of the caravan, and the bay you are reversing in to. ↔️ Steer in the opposite direction. This often throws people as it goes against your driving instincts. ◀️ If you’ve got plenty of room, ease the steering into the turn. If you’ve not got much room, begin reversing with a full lock. 🐢Take it slowly and relax. As the caravan is lining up into the bay, ease off your steering. Keep moving forward with your driving experience and get some towing training: 👉 https://lnkd.in/ecuJxnJ
