Paul Feig already has one intriguing upcoming comedy with “Grand Death Lotto,” starring John CenaAwkwafina, and Simu Liu — now it’s time to add another to the list. Deadline reports that Feig is set to direct an upcoming spy comedy over at Paramount, with Sebastian Stan and Maria Bakalova to star.

Exact plot details are under wraps, but “Welcome To Flatch” writer Jenny Bicks pens the script, and its pitch is about a failed double agent who somehow becomes an unlikely success. Given Bakalova’s casting, expect the political theater to possibly be Eastern European, as the actress hails from Bulgaria.

Feig co-produces with film with Lauren Allen Fischer through Feigco Entertainment, along with Stan and Emily Gerson Saines.

Stan is fresh off a starring role in the Apple TV+ original film “Sharper” with Julianne Moore and Justice Smith. Up next, he has the A24 thriller “A Different Man” with Reinate Reinsve, and returns to the MCU soon to reprise his role as Bucky Barnes in “Thunderbolts.”

As for Bakalova, she starred in the A24 anti-slasher “Bodies Bodies Bodies” last year, proving that her Oscar-nominated role in “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” was no one-off. She also stars in “Fairy Land” with Emilia Jones and Scoot McNairy, which had its world premiere at Sundance this past January. Up next, she stars as Cosmo the Space Dog in James Gunn‘s MCU farewell “Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3,” in theaters everywhere on May 5.

Feig has plenty of other irons in the fire, too. First, he has a sequel to “A Simple Favor” on the way. Then he teams up with Sam Raimi for an adaptation of Mauren Kilmer‘s novel “Suburban Hell” at Legendary. After that, he produces Netflix‘s adaptation of the Riley Sager novel “The House Across The Lake,” and potentially helms that project, too. Last one: an ABC pilot, “Motherland,” which Feig executive produces. But “Grand Death Lotto” comes before all of that over at Amazon Studios.

So, does Sebastian Stan have the comedic chops to spare with Bakalova? We know that Bakalova will hold her own after “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm.” More news on this project soon.
