BlackBerry announced the appointment of John Giamatteo as its new Chief Executive Officer and as a member of its Board of Directors. Marking a significant leadership transition, Giamatteo brings a wealth of experience to the role, having held executive positions in various technology companies.
The company also revealed its plans to separate its IoT and Cybersecurity businesses, operating them as distinct standalone divisions. BlackBerry has decided against pursuing a subsidiary IPO for the IoT business.
