How to Wrap Text in Canva?

In this tutorial, I am going to add some paragraphs to our design and also add an image. Next, we will wrap text to make sure that both the text and the images in our design are positioned perfectly.

Let's see start the tutorial.

Step 1: Creating a New Design

First, you need to log in to your Canva account. If you don't have an account, you can create one for free using this link - https://canva.com.

After you log in to your account, you need to create a new design. Click on Create a design and select a design from the given suggestion.

Below, you can see that I have selected Instagram Post (Square) as my design.

After a selecting a design, you'll be taken to the Canva editor where you can edit your design as per your requirements.

Below is an example of the Canva editor. You can see your blank design marked by the red arrow and on the left is the editing options using which you can create your unique design.

Now, we will add some text in the area as marked above.

Below, you can see that I have added a paragraph to the text element. But the text we added is overlapping over the image.

In Step 3, we will see how to wrap the text in our Canva design so that it doesn't overlap with the image.

Step 3: Wrapping Text

To wrap the text, we need to perform two steps - (1) Make the font size smaller (optional), and (2) Drag the white pill handle (as marked by red arrow in the below image) to the left side until the text is positioned correctly.

By dragging the white pill handle, the text box becomes smaller. With a smaller text box, your text will automatically wrap or overflow to the next line.

Below you can see that after dragging the white pill handle towards the left side and reducing the font size, I was able to wrap the text properly to my design.

Thus, by following the steps mentioned above, you can easily wrap your text in your designs.

After wrapping the text, you can fine-tune the placement and customize the design further.

You can adjust the font style, size, color, and other formatting options to ensure that the wrapped text complements your overall design.

Tip: If you have a very long paragraph, I would advise you to add another page to your Canva design by clicking on Add page, and take a portion of the text from your paragraph on the first page (Ctrl+X) and paste it (Ctrl+V) on the second page. This way, you can make your paragraph shorter and try to wrap it using the white pill handle as mentioned above.
