I recently developed an excruciatingly painful condition (a herniated L4-L5 disc and pinched nerve) in my lower back that rendered me unable to walk without crutches. We contacted Twin Cities Orthopedics (TCO) on a Thursday afternoon and described the condition. They were able to access my test data and arrange an appointment to see Dr. Eric Deal right away on Monday. After evaluating the situation, Dr. Deal patiently explained the condition and the possible treatment options. We decided on surgery, and they were able to schedule me right away on that Thursday at their Eagan location. The surgery went without a hitch, and I was able to walk almost immediately, only needing the assistance of a cane for balance for the first few weeks.

I can honestly say that working with TCO was the most positive medical experience I have ever had. Every member of the TCO staff was completely professional and genuinely caring at every step. The facilities were pleasant and modern, and most conveniently located. The anesthesiologist (Dr. Anderson) listened carefully to my concerns, and we were able to avoid any nausea or allergic reactions which have historically been a real problem for me. Dr. Deal and his team did an incredible job with the surgery and the aftercare. Following this rather complex procedure, I had almost no pain and required no medications beyond ordinary Tylenol. I simply cannot say enough good things about the technical expertise and genuine care this group provided, and I wholeheartedly recommend TCO without reservation for anyone needing orthopedic care.

Dr. Ridley repaired my rotator cuff, so when my son had a sports injury a couple years later, we decided to see Dr. Ridley again. He explained everything thoroughly, was personable and able to speak specifically to getting back to sports following the surgery. My son had surgery on a Thursday, which went very smoothly. He experienced minimal pain and was back to school on Monday. His physical therapy and recovery are going great 5-6 weeks later, which we are very thankful for! Everyone on Dr. Ridley’s team, from the nurses to his physical therapist, are friendly and did an outstanding job.

This past March I won the High School Olympic Weightlifting State Championship for the 67kg weight class. I had a final snatch of 68 kg and clean jerk of 91kg. I was able to come out on top with all of my hard work. I had only been cleared for sports four months prior, so this is a real testament to what you can do when you put your mind to it. I also dove back into ultimate frisbee and have easily become a vital player on the field with my speed and agility. I’d like to thank Dr. Johnson for giving me the opportunity to make these great things happen after my knee surgeries.

Dr. Meisterling and his team were outstanding for my hip replacement procedure and my postoperative care! I have no pain, and the rehab went extremely well. If anyone is thinking of having this procedure done, I highly recommend Dr. Meisterling and his team! My family and I would like to thank them for giving me a huge part of my life back! The ability to spend time with my family and friends outdoors and not be in any discomfort is priceless!

I had my total hip replacement surgery performed by Dr. Ridley. Through the entire process, he explained the procedure step-by-step and what I should expect. He was there to talk with me before the surgery and right afterwards to see how I was feeling. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. I had no pain afterwards and my physical activities are nearly back to normal 60 days post-surgery.

I am so pleased with the outcome of both of my total knee replacement surgeries (December of 2023, and February of 2024). Dr. O’Neill is a knee replacement genius. My first knee was in his top 10 worst of his career (I blew it out skiing in 1988 so I had LOTS of long arthritic bone spurs). My other knee just wore out (probably from carrying most of the load for 35 years!). It is so nice not to have pain and aches deep inside my knees anymore, and my scars are hardly noticeable. His team is fabulous! They took very good care of me during the entire process. I am getting lots of compliments on how well I am walking now from friends and family. This surgery and the healing process is not easy, but it is well worth it. I am really feeling that now that I walk with ease and no pain. Dr. O’Neill is very caring, and his confidence was very reassuring. You could not pick a better surgeon than Dr. O’Neill!

In February I finally scheduled my hip replacement surgery. I was in so much discomfort and pain. This was my first time at TCO, and I was assigned to Dr. Bircher. After my first exam with him I knew I was in good hands. I had my surgery, and it was the best thing I could’ve done for myself. Dr. Bircher was phenomenal, he did a great job and I have no complaints. I’d also like to compliment his assistant, Kari Gabrielse, on her professionalism and her care. They are a dynamic duo and if by chance I would need the other hip replaced, I will be asking for this duo to do the job. In addition, the whole clinic atmosphere is great, everyone is so helpful and pleasant. Thank you!
