This is a deck to play if you've been losing all evening and you feel sad. It is a theme deck with lots of cards with words like 'gloom', 'sorrow', 'tears' and stuff in the name. The deck is designed for your creatures to die.

Monkey Cage Combo:

The deck leverages mass ETB effects and it is full of 3 CMC creatures. It has some combos but they almost never happen because they require large large amounts of mana. So it has massive amounts of ramp and tries to use it. The combo idea is to cast Monkey Cage first and then bring bunches of creatures onto the battlefield at the same time, cracking monkey cage and creating oodles and oodles of 2/2 green apes. You can bring lots of creatures onto the battlefield at the same time using any of the following:

Immortal Servitude can bring all your CMC 3 creatures onto the battlefield from your graveyard, or all your CMC 7 creatures if you have enough mana.
Rise of the Dark Realms bring all graveyard creatures to the battlefield under your control.
Skyship Weatherlight can tutor for Monkey Cage in your hand.
Borne Upon a Wind allows you to cast Monkey Cage at the end of the player's turn before you in order to split the cost of your combo between two turns.

3 CMC 'Transmute' Tutors:

These three tutors can be useful: Drift of Phantasms, Dimir Machinations, and Perplex Things to tutor for are:

Immortal Servitude if you have Monkey Cage in your hand.
Leeches if you are taking too much poison damage.
Perplex if you might need a counter spell (and you can still tutor with it once you have it)
Bontu's Last Reckoning and Slaughter the Strong if you need a board wipe.
Drown in Sorrow and Festergloom if tokens are getting out of hand.

Freed From The Real Combos:

Using the 'Transmute' Tutors you can search for the other half of each of these combos with Freed from the Real which you can also tutor for using 'transmute':

Merieke Ri Berit if you want to surgically destroy a bunch of creatures.
Servant of Tymaret if you want to bleed your opponent's life.
Siren of the Silent Song if you want to mill your opponents.

Spreading the Gloom:

The deck tries to spread the gloom to the other players by wiping the board once in a while.

In Garruck's Wake and Mass Calcify for more board wipes.
Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite to nerf your opponent's creatures.
