I was playing brawl arena and my cmdr is Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats, in my hand is a bunch of wizards, rougues, warriors, and clerics. But two particular cards that peeked my interest. Those cards are, Terror of the Peaks and Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. I have Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats in play and Terror of the Peaks in play. Already this seems strong. Then I played Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. This is the combo. Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet enters the battlefield, triggers Terror of the Peaks, I target a creature (doesn't matter how big the creature because they have deathtouch thanks to Zagras, Thief of Heartbeats) that creature dies but instead gets exiled because of Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet and she makes a 2/2 zombie token. That token triggers Terror of the Peaks, boom another exiled creature, and another 2/2 zombie. I do this 6 times and my opponent concedes.

So the combo goes, give all your creatures deathtouch have Terror of the Peaks out and play Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet and wipe the table and make a ton of 2/2 zombies tokens.

I've been keeping up on magic online playing brawl and that's because I don't have time raising to kids under 2 yrs old to leave the house for several hours to play magic. So what do I suggest?

I'm a mono black player at heart. And playing brawl has really shown me a wide range of cmdrs and its easy to build with every card at your disposal.

Sheoldred  ^Flip was the most fun for a newer mono black cmdr but your opponents might find it to be very oppressive as it's focus is getting cards to the graveyard by making players discard and mill. Meanwhile kill spells to put more creatures in the graveyard. Plus killing Sheoldred  ^Flip only allows you to recast her allowing you to kill another creature on etb. So spells that bring her back immediately like Undying Evil do work here.

For mono black historic brawl I like Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet. Now I know how this isn't a card that you missed on your hiatus but maybe this is one worth looking into. Make a control shell and smash with kalitas. Have a few backup win cons.

Outside of mono black I like

• Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim
• Radagast the Brown
• Delney, Streetwise Lookout
• Eriette of the Charmed Apple
• Troyan, Gutsy Explorer this deck has an interesting mana curve. 1 and 2 drops skips 3 and 4 drops then 5 6 and 7 drops fills a bulk of the slots.

That's what I got.

Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet is my favorite legendary. She went to Kaladesh and learned a new ability.

orcopollo, thank you for the interest and the suggestion! I actually used to run Liesa in here, as well as Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet, and I found that I was as upset at my opponents' creatures being exiled as they were, since I lost so many bleeder triggers. I still am looking for a good home for both of my Liesas!

Probably depends on if you need the 4 drop to stabilize or be aggressive more - Sheoldred is probably the best card at doing both and I don't think there's a comparable option out there. Esika's Chariot is probably the best in that it's classic and gives you both blockers and a threat, but I don't think it's quite the same. Other options... maybe Gonti, Lord of Luxury? Is Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet no longer power-crept enough (or is the GY exile at all useful anymore)? Questing Beast if you want a pure threat?

No prob dnthymamai! Totally understandable regarding the infinite combos; I know they can be polarizing among players. If your playgroup ever changes their mind, I'd recommend adding that combo for sure.

If you're looking for more graveyard/aristocrats hate, I'd recommend:

• Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet or Gisa, Glorious Resurrector, depending on your budget.

• Sanctifier en-Vec also provides some additional hate options for colors that utilize their graveyard, and/or use discard to set it up.

• Scavenger Grounds is another option that can be an easy swap with a land.

• Calamity's Wake is an instant speed option that can also blank combos and other interaction for that turn.

I think you can probably swap out Changeling Outcast for something else. Since Burakos can fill any role in the party, they have less need for Changelings than Nalia de'Arnise might. Zhentarim Bandit or Preacher of the Schism could be some options for more Treasure support or draw. Preacher as a 2/4 with Deathtouch for 3 mana alone is pretty nice.

Hello Austin_Smith_of_Cards, thank you! I love Vampire tribal too! Big fan of tribal, especially the “Innistrad” themed tribes (Zombies, Spirits, Werewolves, Vampires). Sounds like you have a fun play group :)

Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet is a GREAT card! I will definitely playtest this and add to the deck! Thank you for the suggestion!
