Ao, the Dawn Sky

Legendary Creature — Dragon Spirit

Flying, vigilance

When this dies (is put into the graveyard from the battlefield), choose one —

  • Look at the top seven cards of your library. Put any number of nonland permanent cards with total mana value/converted mana cost 4 or less form among them onto the battlefield. Put the rest on the bottom of your library in a random order.
  • Put two +1/+1 counters on each permanent you control that's a creature or Vehicle.

Have you thought about including Ao, the Dawn Sky or Yosei, the Morning Star? Preston can force their death triggers via legendary rule

I have a Ao, the Dawn Sky deck I am working on and I was wondering if there are any permanent spells that draws me more the one card for 4 or less. The deck has a large amount of artifact and I will be sacrificing Ao few times through the game. So far I have Welcoming Vampire, Tocasia's Welcome, Staff of Compleation, Relic Vial, Loran of the Third Path, Gate to the Afterlife, Endless Atlas and Esper Sentinel.

Ao, the Dawn Sky and Junji, the Midnight Sky both seem perfect for a Teysa deck. Maybe Kaya, Geist Hunter depending on how much you rely on token generation. Lolth, Spider Queen and Tevesh Szat, Doom of Fools are both insane in any aristocrats kind of deck. Prowling Geistcatcher might also be worth a look.

With Ao, the Dawn Sky first death ability do you get to play 7 cards potentially if they are all 4 mana or less, or is it just a collective mana value of up to four between cards.

ENVE I would recommend cutting Ao, the Dawn Sky for Temur Sabertooth simply because his effect is on death and not ETB, and you don't run any sacrifice outlets besides Birthing Pod. If you don't have Birthing Pod in play, he's essentially a near-dead card.

If you wanted to replace a 4cmc card, I'd say cut Oracle of Mul Daya; she's nice, but not needed when you're getting 2~3 lands a turn out from Karametra. You can thin your deck fast enough she's not needed, especially if you're doing shenanigans with Whitemane Lion.

Also another idea is Amulet of Vigor. It's just too good in Karametra as all your lands ETB untapped instead of tapped.
