- Amount: $4,999,924
Funded by an NSF INCLUDES planning grant (#2040634), the WCEC was created in 2021 as a partnership network of 29 professional engineering societies and STEM-based companies to address systemic barriers prohibiting equitable work environments for women engineers of color.
SWE, in collaboration with the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and the Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN), received a National Science Foundation (NSF) INCLUDES grant (NSF Award #2310386) to support the Women of Color in Engineering Collaborative (WCEC). The additional support from NSF will allow the WCEC to implement its plan, allow the WCEC to expand its membership, and encourage more organizations to leverage their resources to promote systemic change and work collectively to decrease the barriers that lead to the attrition of women engineers of color.
