About This Game

A short, narrative adventure / walking simulator that you can experience in 1 hour!

Based on first hand accounts of real-life 'peasant poet' John Clare, this story follows his escape from an asylum and chronicles his 80 mile walk home. The adventure explores the fictions and misremembering that resulted from a troubled mind experiencing such an exhausting trek.

In the visual style of classic RPGs (such as Secrets of Mana) with simple controls designed to be accessible for players of all skills and ages, you explore the landscape between London and Northborough in 1841. Encounter local people, engage them in branching dialogue, hear their stories and bump into figments of Clare's imagination.

Throughout the journey you might discover 'lost papers' - torn pages from Clare's notebooks - featuring fragments of his poetry and writings. Collect them all to unlock hidden secrets.
