This is a review that I should have written 7 years ago, when I was completely lost in fictitious Bolivia! (Yes, Bolivia is a real country but the locations in this game are not.)

This game is one of the most fun I've had with my friends in a long time.
I never really got into any of the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon games before Wildlands, so I was compeletely new to the special forces and their covert missions.
From the first trailer I was hooked. What an interesting villain (El Sueño) with a whole cartel of characters that are still memorable over 5 years later.

Never before and never since have I enjoyed picking up a multitude of vehicles to drive or fly around to my missions. What other game lets you ride a tractor to battle? (except farming simulators...)

The movement is smooth (vaulting over things, running, etc.) and satisfying.

The map is divided into different sections that are controlled by parts of the cartel, that need to be taken down. Even though each part of the map has recurring missions that might sound tedious or repetitive, I never felt like I was simply grinding the missions to advance. I loved collecting things, helping people, killing bad guys (and girls) and sneak around.

The whole world in Wildlands is beautiful, there's people and animals that you can interact with. Yes, if you leave your vehicle on the street a whole traffic jam will occur. You have an impact, you are a person in their world not just a player in a map.
On top of all the regular missions there's secrets you learn by talking to NPCs. I still remember the town that is completely inhabited by only dogs or the legend of El Tio.

There's also a whole thing about weapons and customizations but I'm going to be honest, I did not care about weapons when playing. As long as I could kill the enemies, I did not care whether my gun was more or less accurate. To learn more about this, another review might be more helpful.

I've already played 180 hours and I have not yet seen the end of the game. I can wholeheartedly recommend this game. You should play it with your friends and free Bolivia!
