This game has interesting world-building going for it, and the story was rather engaging. The platforming, while rather simple, was well done. Most of the puzzles were straightforward, once I realized the options I had available to find the solutions. The voice acting was well performed.

There were two major downsides to this game. The first is that it was very short; I was able to finish it in only two hours. The second is that there was no way to adjust audio levels. Some of the voice lines were a little too quiet while the music, in some areas, was quite loud.

Overall, if you are interested in puzzle/platformers, it might be worth looking into this one.

I found this game in Steam's "Hidden Gems" section, and I feel that descriptor is a bit of an understatement. This is a fantastic game, and how it never showed up on my radar, while also ticking so many of my checkboxes, amazes me.

This is a traditional Rogue-like game, so it actually plays like Rogue, ADOM, Dwarf Fortress, etc. It also manages to add in some Rogue-lite elements, so even when your character dies horribly in one of the first several dungeons, you still feel like you are making progress. Also, much like those old Rogue-like games, this game does very little in the way of hand-holding. The tutorial is very basic, teaching you the bare-bones of what you need to play, and it allows you the freedom to explore and discover much of the games hidden features for yourself, at your own pace. It makes it feel so much more rewarding whenever you make a new discovery.

Much of the game's humor is tongue-in-cheek and pokes fun at itself and other games in the traditional Rogue-like genre. It also packs numerous references to its predecessors, which for those who have been playing these games for well over 25 years now, it is fun and nostalgic to find and recognize them.

This game is not without its faults. I have come across several bugs while playing, but they were all very minor. Furthermore, the developers and the community is very active, both here in the Discussions section and in their Discord server. In the Discord server, any time I had an issue or question, it was a matter of minutes before I had an answer or someone helping me, and here in the Steam Discussions page, it was only a couple of hours before someone scoured the Discord server for the correct answer.

I would give Dungeonmans a 9/10. If you are like me, and have extensively played and enjoyed the older, text-based Rogue-like games, you should definitely pick this game up. If you simply enjoy Rogue-like or Rogue-lite games, but have never played Rogue or ADOM, then maybe wait for the game to go on sale before picking this up (but you should still pick it up).

Extremely relaxing and chill game that itches the same part of my brain as a strategy game.

This "game" is like an onion... Each time you peel through a layer, you are exposed to a fresh game, build upon the same rules as the layer before it. This also leads to more false endings than Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, but they are all fantastic. This game would have been my pick for game of the year.

This game appears to be a shameless cash-grab. It is a buggy mess that received a single patch and was then ignored by the developers. My window to get a refund for this game passed while waiting for an update to fix the game-breaking bugs that I was encountering.

While I do recommend this game, there are some negative things to take note of.

I, personally, enjoy the gameplay. The story is okay, at best.

What you have to look out for are the bugs. Many times, I have loaded a game and had to forfeit the game I was playing because the game was missing buttons. I have also had cards disappear from my hand when I decide to not use them.

For what it is, this game is too expensive to recommend.

Building the tower does nothing for your character; in fact, if you complete the tower before completing the dungeon, you have to start over. The gold is only good for changing the color of the dragon (with no additional effects) and buying more resources. The enemies do not deal enough damage to be any threat, whatsoever, especially seeing as how they only move side to side and take a while to actually attack once they hit you.

If you spam the Enter (↵) wile moving around, you will fins spots that give resources for no reason; some do this infinitely.

If this game were debugged and had some progression as far as difficulty and abilities, then I could see maybe paying $1 to $2 for this as a game for a small child, but as it currently is, I cannot recommend this game.

After about 8 hours of gameplay, I am getting bored with this game already. As of yet, there is little variation to the level tiles or the monsters to fight. Most of my characters have their equipment already leveled up to the point where every enemy is a one-shot kill, even on the hardest difficulty.

Edit: Fixed grammar.

Early Access Review
This is nothing more than a shameless cash-grab! I played an identical game online several months ago, with the exact same party orginization system. The only difference was that it was not D&D themed and had less microtransactions DLC.

This is one of the better games that I have played in a while.
-------------
Update: Since this game's 1.0 release, it has encompassed my life and is easily one of the top 10 games that I own. The game still sees regular updates and the mod support is crazy.

If you haven't played this game, I weep for you. Just do it.
