Islands of Insight

Complete the pattern?
Does anyone see a pattern here? I certainly don't. It's some random ♥♥♥♥.

edit:
Now that I think about it, I might be overcomplicating this one, and the easiest way to solve it would be to make every L or I shape black (as we can see in bottom left), just like the first answer suggested lol

Yeah I spent days, looking at this and couldn't figure it out. Apparently the pattern is looking for the shapes that match the two bottom left black shapes.

As ridiculous as it sounds, "every three-square block is black" is the pattern. I think it's one of the first pattern puzzles people stumble upon that throws such a curveball at you. It caught me off guard too :happy_creep:
Okay, this is definitely nonsense, but I think I see what they mean. All tiles of two specific shapes are black; all other tiles are white.

I still can't see it? The top left part, particularly.

I remember this one, I figured it out almost right away, but it sure is tricky, I like this kind of puzzle though, unlike the spinning thing and the music grid which unlock together, which are both just tedious in different ways

That's another puzzle people get confused about

Understanding the Solution is Simple
Notice all of the black colors are in segments of 3 squares, it is assumed that everything else is white, although there is no contextual hints to say otherwise either, especially for the 5 you really have to guess at, as there was no 5 white as a contextual hint in the grid

This is one of those moments where the game "breaks" its own rules. Luckily I haven't encountered too many of those instances .... yet.

Damn. It's just barely possible to see those borders. Thanks for the answer.
Really not a fan of this puzzle - not only it's in the wrong category, it's also exploits the color theme. If the tiles were inverted, it'd be much easier.
