HorizonBaseMission

Finn and Ducain escape stormtroopers

At Horizon Base, Finn called to Poe Dameron and reported to him that there was a larger First Order presence on the base then previously expected. Dameron and Finn worried that the First Order were after the same objective they were. Dameron told him that he and his partner would have to figure it out and that the Resistance was counting on him.

His partner, Gannis Ducain came on the mission to get justice for his past mistakes. As they were arguing about Ducain stealing the Millennium Falcon, a First Order stormtrooper stopped them and ordered them to show their identification. In order to not get caught, Finn shot down cargo help above the stormtroopers, taking them down. They then quickly made their way into the base.

Candori

The candori picked up Finn and Ducain

Inside the base, Ducain told Finn that he joined the Resistance to make himself a better person. But Finn was more worried about fighting the First Order. As they kept talking a large noise bellowed through the base. As the noise got louder Finn and Ducain wondered what it was. All of the sudden a candori picked them up and tried to eat them.

A man below told them that that was his candori and he used it to protect him and his fellow Oruans from the First Order, who believed Finn and Ducain were part of. But Ducain told him that they were members of the Resistance and not First Order personnel. The man believed that the Resistance was no more. Finn told them that they knew what the First Order had done to their planet and now they were on their own, like the Resistance. The man ordered for Finn and Ducain to be released.

Finn told him that the First Order would be here soon and that they were after him. He knew and introduced himself as Mezlo. He was nearly apply to run the First Order off his planet with a small force but failed. He also assumed that Finn was their to recruit him. He refused to join because he wanted to fight for honor instead for a cause. He saw the Resistance as people who were fighting to be heroes. This angered Finn who told him about his past as a stormtrooper and all the troubles he went through to join the Resistance. Mezlo apologize for misjudging them but he was interrupted by the arrival of stormtroopers.

The stormtroopers ordered them not to move. Ducain thought that they were done for but Mezlo had a plan. All of the sudden, another candori came out from the ceiling and grabbed the stormtroopers. Finn ordered for Dameron to pick them up as they opened fire on the stormtroopers.

Finn again asked Mezlo to join the Resistance, but he once again refused telling him that he and his people will fight against the First Order. They managed to escape and reached the Falcon. But Mezlo did promise to help the Resistance if the Resistance needed it. Finn promised to do the same.

Back on the Falcon, Dameron was disappointed that the Oruans did not join them and he believed that the Resistance was still alone. But Finn knew they were not. While the First Order had an army, they did not have honor. Which was something that the Oruans and the Resistance had. He believed that the Oruans will fight with them one day and they would not be alone.
