The RK-3 blaster was a model of blaster pistol manufactured by Merr-Sonn Munitions, Inc. and later Sonn-Blas Corporation[1] that was used by the Galactic Empire,[2] the First Order,[4] and the crime lord Azmorigan.[5] Imperial officers like Agent Kallus,[6] Thrawn,[7] Admiral Rampart,[8] Captain Mann,[9] and Arihnda Pryce[10] used the RK-3. The Clone X trooper CX-2 used one was a backup weapon.[11] The bounty hunter Bossk'wassak'Cradossk also wielded a RK-3 blaster during a raid on the Halcyon to capture Stolak Vandello, a former member of the Black Sun syndicate.[12] The First Order TIE Fighter Pilot Elrik Vonreg carried a customized version of this blaster.[13] The First Order Security Bureau agent Tierny wielded two black RK-3s.[14]
The blaster has a stun setting[15] and was effective in close-range combat, but it was ineffective when fighting heavily armored enemies, making it weaker than standard blaster pistols.[4]
