The Power Surge Vent was a safety device aboard Incom Corporation's T-65 X-wing starfighter. It was designed to vent the engine compartment of excess power output, fission byproduct, or cooling gasses. The Power Surge Vent included a 5k c3 carbon/halon extinguisher system that was intended to shut the starfighter's engine in an emergency.[1]
