―A Niamos shoretrooper dispatches Cassian Andor to the prison barge headed to the Narkina 5 Prison Complex[2]

Narkina 5 was a small water moon that orbited the gas giant Narkina. The Galactic Empire maintained a prison complex there.

Description[]

Narkina 5 was a small moon that orbited a gas giant. It was mostly covered by water but also had rocky islands, inlets, mesas, lakes, and beaches with massive canyons and dry trees.[1] The lakes and rivers of the planet were rich with squigglies which fishermen from many species, including Keredians, visited the moon to fish, but[3] by 5 BBY[4] the Prison Complex had irreparably polluted the waters, diminishing the squigglie population and angering the fishermen communities.[3]

History[]

In 5 BBY,[4] Cassian Andor was sent to the moon's Imperial Prison Complex after being arrested and sentenced on Niamos. The hundreds of prisoners there were forced to work twelve hour shifts to build components for the Empire.[2] Later, Andor and fellow prisoner Ruescott Melshi later fled across the moon's surface after the Narkina 5 prison escape.[5]
