Lonisa City was the capital city of the planet Valo, housing the under-construction Valo Temple. It sat on the shore of Lake Lonisa.[2] During the High Republic Era, Lonisa City hosted the Republic Fair, welcoming visitors from across the galaxy. However, the fair was attacked by the Nihil pirates. In the leadup to the attack, Jedi Padawan Ram Jomaram was arrested while sending a distress signal offworld after the sabotage of the planet's communications systems. Jedi Knight Vernestra Rwoh and Padawan Lula Talisola engaged Nihil starfighters in a dogfight near Lonisa City before crash-landing their starship, the Varonchagger, and Rwoh sent Talisola into the city to rescue Jomaram. Districts of Lonisa City included the Carnival District and the Government District.[1]

Lonisa City first appeared in the novels The High Republic: The Rising Storm[2] and The High Republic: Race to Crashpoint Tower.[1] In a preview of Race to Crashpoint Tower published in The High Republic: A Test of Courage, Lonisa City was called Valo City.[3]
