"You insulted my choice of beverage. As host and provider, I was offended by this. You failed to gauge the depth of my irritation. You rose to make your point more vocally. I was helping you back into your chair when you fell. You were gone when I woke up, you've come here now to apologize. I accept your apology."
―Brasso to Cassian Andor[2]

Brasso was a human male who served as a Grappler and Honor guard on the planet Ferrix within the Free Trade Sector, which he had long been a citizen of. He was a close friend of Cassian Andor, willing to rescue his friend from the pitfalls of his regrettable misadventures and dubious arrangements, caring for his mother and her droid during his extended absences.

Biography[]

Regrettable misadventures[]

Brasso was a human male that resided on the planet Ferrix during the reign of the Galactic Empire. He served as a Grappler, tearing apart obsolete starships in the local salvage yard. In 5 BBY, his close friend Cassian Andor had been gone from Ferrix for some time, having left on a borrowed starship. His mother Maarva believed him to be out ruining his health and reputation with friends of low character, leading to Brasso to go looking for him.[2]

BrassoAndor-Kassa

Brasso was willing to lie for his friend Cassian despite his misadventures.

Later that morning, Andor had returned from an encounter with Pre-Mor officers on Morlana One, which had resulted in a double murder, though Brasso was not aware of it. Meeting Brasso outside his workplace, a visibly-injured Andor asked Brasso to lie about where he was the night before. Creating a cover story, Andor said that they had wanted to go out drinking, but after Andor declined Brasso's suggestion to go to Cavo's, they drank nog at Brasso's home before falling asleep. Rather than question it, Brasso instead went on to embellish it further, creating a story of how they had hurt themselves when drunk at his home, a cover for Andor's injuries. He left for work soon after.[2]

Sound of a reckoning[]

When a squad of Pre-Mor Enforcement officers arrived to arrest Andor for the two murders he had committed, Brasso wasted no time. With their Mobile Tac-Pod left unguarded, Brasso sabotaged the transport, securing it to a large piece of debris with a metal chain. When the officers engaged with Andor and Luthen Rael, who Andor had contacted to sell a stolen Imperial N-S9 Starpath Unit, one Corpo, designation North-3, attempted to get the transport airborne, Brasso's sabotage caused the subsequent crash of the ship and the death of the officer, when the attached debris got caught in a nearby structure. With blood on his hands and Andor having fled with Rael, Brasso returned to the local bar, downing a glass of alcohol.[4]

Matters of grave importance[]

"The Daughters of Ferrix require your assistance in matters of grave importance."
―Brasso, to B2EMO[5]

With Andor gone, Brasso and their mutual friend Bix Caleen were left to care for Andor's aging mother.[6] Ferrix, now under Imperial occupation, was not the place it once was, Brasso and the Ferrix locals remained wary of the stormtroopers and Imperial officers that held the town.[7] Caleen was later detained and imprisoned by Imperial agents at Hotel Rix. On her deathbed, Maarva recorded the speech to be played at her funeral and told Brasso the message that was to be passed to her son upon his return.[3]

Brasso requested Bee's assistance in matters of grave importance.

Soon after, Maarva passed, with Brasso going on to assist the Daughters of Ferrix in their duties, asking that B2EMO attend the coming funeral. The droid, left devastated by the loss of it's owner and without company, was comforted by Brasso who stayed the night at the Andor household to comfort the lonely droid.[5]

Fighting back[]

"Tell him, none of this is his fault. It was already burning. He's just the first spark of the fire. He knows everything he needs to know and feels everything he needs to feel. And when the day comes when those two pull together, he will be an unstoppable force for good. Tell him, I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong."
―Brasso relays Maarva's message to Andor[3]

Upon Andor's return, Pegla arranged for him to meet with Brasso in an underground tunnel. There he relayed him Maarva's message, warning him not to pursue Bix and her captors and rather to take care of himself, but was ultimately unsuccessful in convincing him.[3]

Brasso-Rashi-Wilmon-Andor12

Brasso and Rashi rescued Wilmon Paak from the clutches of Imperial forces.

Brasso later led the funeral procession as part of the Ferrix honor guard, carrying the funerary stone containing Maarva's remains down Rix Road. He was moved by Maarva's funeral speech, coming to realize the true evil of the Empire that had occupied his home. With the patience of the Imperials running thin, Imperial officer Vanis Tigo attempted to stop the speech and attacked B2EMO, who was broadcasting the speech using a holoprojector. This was not received well by Brasso and the gathered locals, who began to fight back.[3]

Immediately a riot erupted, with Brasso and many others lashing out, attacking the Tigo and his escort and moving on the barricade erected by the garrison. With the situation quickly escalating, Wilmon Paak, whose father Salman had been arrested by the Empire, threw an improvised explosive at the Imperial lines, leading to a chain of explosions that left many dead, transforming the riot into a bloodbath. As stormtroopers began to fire indiscriminately into the crowd, Brasso rushed to the aid of Paak, rescuing him from the clutches of Imperial forces. He later fled offworld aboard a Breon Dayvan with Wilmon, B2EMO, Caleen, who had been rescued by Andor, who himself had returned for Maarva's funeral, as well as Jezzi.[3]
