"You didn't happen to hear back from Aquamarine Squad yet, did you? Yeah, I know… Goofy name, but they're a new squad and our best colors were already taken."
―Zev Senesca[1]

Aquamarine Squad was a three-member squad in the Rebel Alliance's military. They went on a recruitment mission to the spaceport Mos Eisley in 3 ABY, where they drew the attention of Imperial stormtroopers. They eventually escaped and returned to the Rebel Alliance's Echo Base on the planet Hoth.

Description[]

Aquamarine Squad was a squad of infantry troopers within the Rebel Alliance's military that was comprised of three members. The rebel pilot Zev Senesca, when speaking to an individual, admitted that the use of "aquamarine" to name the squad sounded silly, but the colors they considered more suitable were already taken by other squads by the time the squad was formed. They wore the cold weather gear common to those stationed[1] on the planet[3] Hoth, even while they were on the much hotter[1] planet[3] Tatooine.[1]

History[]

"I thought I was toast! Y'know, when people were telling me how great it is to be a Rebel, I'm PRETTY sure they forgot to say how super dangerous it can be!"
―An Aquamarine Squad member[1]

In 3 ABY,[4] while the Rebel Alliance was stationed at Echo Base on Hoth, Aquamarine Squad went on a mission to the spaceport of Mos Eisley on Tatooine. While there, they went door to door, finding new recruits for the Alliance. They had some success but were discovered by an Imperial stormtrooper because they tried to recruit his wife. They split up and escaped, but as a result, they were late to check in with Senesca, who was concerned because they were a new squad.[1]

Senesca asked an individual to travel to Mos Eisley to retrieve Aquamarine Squad; the individual found two of the members safe but had to rescue the third from stormtroopers on Kerner Plaza. After speaking with the individual, all three returned to Echo Base.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

Aquamarine Squad appeared in the "Aquamarine Around the Gills" side mission of the non-canon video game LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, which was released in 2022.[1]

According to the Star Wars: Galactic Atlas, Echo Base was constructed in 3 ABY, and Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back establishes that it was destroyed in the same year. Therefore, Aquamarine Squad must have been founded by 3 ABY.
