A new set is set to captivate both Magic: The Gathering veterans and newcomers intrigued by murder mysteries, whodunnits, and Cluedo-style adventures. Wizards of the Coast has announced the release of Murders at Karlov Manor (#MTGKarlov), the latest addition to the renowned trading card game, Magic: The Gathering (MTG), scheduled for tabletop release on February 9, 2024.

The prerelease events, offering players an exclusive opportunity to explore the cards firsthand, commenced at Wizards Play Network stores nationwide on February 2.

In honor of the launch, Wizards of the Coast Southeast Asia (SEA) has orchestrated an original murder mystery for budding investigators to collaborate on and apprehend the culprit. This mystery unfolds at a charming preview event for the set's launch, taking a dramatically tragic turn. Starting from February 5, 2024, excerpts from the mystery will be presented as an online contest on Wizards of the Coast SEA’s Facebook and Instagram platforms, with prizes up for grabs for participants in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

Set in the expansive cityscape of Ravnica, Murders at Karlov Manor delves into the realm of detective-themed adventures, inviting players to investigate a series of cold-blooded killings intertwined with a broader conspiracy. This set also marks the debut of Play Boosters, offering a fresh perspective on the MTG experience.

The narrative unfolds as a string of murders plague Karlov Manor, targeting Ravnica’s elite. As the city teeters on the brink of chaos, it will require the keenest minds to unravel a case more intricate than initially perceived. The Ravnican Agency of Magicological Investigations enlists the expertise of the brilliant detective Alquist Proft, the Ghost-Assassin Kaya, and the youthful Fae, Kellan, to uncover the truth among a colorful cast of suspects.

Accompanying the launch are the innovative Play Boosters, combining the playability of Draft Boosters with the excitement of Set Boosters. These boosters promise an enriched Limited play experience with the chance to acquire additional Rares and Mythic Rares.
