Jujutsu Kaisen returns with a prequel arc in the first part of its second season, delivering a thrilling and compelling origin story for one of the show's main villains and also for its most popular character. A change in director brings a more cinematic look and a focus on shot composition, which makes this one of the best-looking anime of the season, while the script tells a tragic story full of pathos and with high stakes even if we know the ending. Sadly, the short length of the arc means its ending comes a bit abruptly, lessening its impact.
