The inaugural Malaysia Esports Awards is just around the corner, honoring the pinnacle of the local industry — from players to hosts, casters to journalists, and everything in between. Here is everything you need to know, including the nominees and award categories.

In September last year, the first edition of the Malaysia Esports Awards was announced, set to unfold at the prestigious Putrajaya International Convention Centre.

The occasion acknowledges excellence within the esports industry through various categories, recognizing outstanding players, teams, talents, journalists, and more.

Here is everything you need to know about the Malaysia Esports Awards 2023, including the nominees for all categories, ahead of the gala event on January 27, 2024.

A team of 22 qualified judges has been assembled to choose the winners for each category, while members of the public could also vote for their favorite personalities, contributing 20% of the total score.

Among the panel of esteemed judges is Eric Khor, a community veteran who managed the legendary Malaysian Dota 2 team Orange Esports, securing third place in the renowned The International tournament in 2013.

Another judge is Tiffani Lim, who recently served as the team manager of Malaysia's female Dota 2 team, champions at the Global Esports Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, last year.
